Dermatology Services Offered by Dr. G Dermatology

Goes without saying, it is becoming more and more typical for people to consult professionals when they have a certain health issue. If you have a more particular chronic condition, it may be more advantageous to seek the opinion of a medical practitioner specifically trained in that field, even if primary care doctors are good at managing any general health issues that emerge. This is especially true when it comes to skincare, which is why dermatology is so vital.

But what problems can be solved through dermatology? How to understand which dermatologist is best for you? Will you be comfortable with the doctor?

If you’ve got such questions running inside your brain, then this blog is meant for you!

Chemical Peels for Skin Treatment

At Dr. G Dermatology, the chemical peel is used for skin treatment. In a chemical peel, the top layers of the skin are removed by applying a chemical solution to the skin. The skin that regenerates is softer. You might need to have a light or medium peel multiple times to obtain the desired results.

Scars, discolored skin, and wrinkles are all commonly treated with chemical peels on the face. They can be carried out independently or alongside other cosmetic operations. They can also be carried out at various depths, ranging from light to deep. Deeper chemical peels produce more dramatic effects, but they also require more time to heal.

There are three kinds of chemical peels that you can opt for:

  1. Minimal chemical peel: The skin's outer layer is removed by a gentle (superficial) chemical peel (epidermis). It is used to treat dryness, uneven skin tone, fine wrinkles, and acne. Every two to five weeks, you can receive a mild peeling.
  2. Moderate chemical peel: Skin cells from the epidermis and some of the upper layers of your middle layer of skin are removed during a medium chemical peel (dermis). Uneven skin tone, acne scars, and wrinkles are all treated with it. To get or keep the desired result, you might need to repeat the process.
  3. Deep chemical peel: Even more skin cells are removed during a deep chemical peel. For more severe wrinkles, scars, or precancerous growths, your doctor might suggest one. To achieve the desired results, you won't need to repeat any steps.
